Message panels and static panels
Understand saved panels and posted copies before editing or removing a ticket launcher.
Build a message panel in the dashboard, then send it to Discord. Each send creates a static panel: a posted copy that members use to start tickets. Editing the saved panel doesn't update copies you've already sent.
Understand the two forms
Use the dashboard for the reusable design and Discord for the published copy.
| Message panel | Static panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it lives | Panels | A Discord channel |
| What you manage | Name, message, ticket choices, and controls | The posted message members use |
| How to update it | Edit and save in the dashboard | Send a fresh copy, then delete the old Discord message |
| What deletion removes | The saved panel only | That one posted message |
There isn't a dashboard list of posted copies. Keep track of the channels where you send panels.
What stays fixed after sending
A posted copy keeps its message, ticket choices, control style, and button settings from the time you sent it. Template variables resolve once at send time: a member count in the message won't keep updating.
All categories captures the top-level choices available at send time. Selected categories captures your selected choices. Nested groups still let members browse deeper levels from that starting point.
What happens after an edit or deletion
Saved panels and posted copies have separate lifecycles.
- Editing a message panel affects future sends.
- Deleting a message panel leaves already-posted copies working.
- Removing a referenced menu option can block future sends until you reopen and save the panel. Already-posted copies keep their captured choices.
To retire a panel members can still use, delete its message in Discord. Deleting the saved panel in the dashboard doesn't remove posted copies.
What members do
Members select a button or dropdown choice. A group reveals more options; a ticket action opens a conversation using its configured destination. Someone who already has an open ticket is asked to close it before opening another. Blacklisted members see the block explanation instead.
