Blacklist

Block a member

Stop new tickets from a member with a temporary or permanent block.

Block a member from opening new tickets through your bot. Choose an expiry for a temporary restriction or make it permanent. Existing tickets stay open.

Block someone in the dashboard

Open Blacklist for your bot.

  1. Select Add blacklisted user.
  2. In Find a user, search by username, display name, or Discord user ID.
  3. Select the member.
  4. Set the duration using the options below.
  5. Review the expiry preview, then select Create.

Name search finds members who interacted with this bot in the past 360 days. For someone without recent activity, enter their exact Discord user ID.

Choose when the block ends

The dashboard offers relative durations and exact dates.

ChoiceHow to use it
TimeLeave Permanent off and enter a duration such as in 1 hour or 1h 30m.
DateLeave Permanent off and choose the date and time.
PermanentTurn it on for a block with no expiry.

Check the exact local date and time in the preview before saving. Dashboard expiries must be in the future and no more than 361 days away.

Block someone from Discord

Use the slash command when you're already moderating in your server.

  1. Run /modmail blacklist add.
  2. Choose the user.
  3. Optional: Set expires, for example in 1 week or in 1 month.
  4. Send and check the private confirmation.

Leaving expires empty creates a permanent block. The command accepts expiries up to one year and one day ahead and shows the latest allowed time if you exceed it. If the duration can't be read, reword it and try again.

Bots can't be blacklisted. If the member is already blocked, the command shows their existing entry instead of adding another.

Who can use blacklist commands

Server administrators can use these commands. You can also allow specific users or roles through the whitelist in your bot's settings. Someone without permission gets a private explanation and can't change the list.
