Setup

Moderation log and defaults

Choose where staff messages are recorded and how new messages look.

Choose a private moderation log so your team can see who sent each message as the bot. Then set the style, color, and mention behavior for staff messages.

Choose the log channel

The log includes full message content, including private messages sent with /utils dm. Choose a channel only the appropriate staff can read.

  1. Open your bot's Text Utils page in the dashboard.
  2. Under Access and logs, open Moderation logs (optional).
  3. Select one channel where the bot can view and send messages.
  4. Select Save Changes.

New entries go to your chosen channel. Changing it later moves future entries only; existing entries stay in the previous channel. Log entries don't notify people mentioned in the message.

Logging is optional. With no channel selected, messages still send, but there's no moderation record. If the saved channel is deleted, choose a replacement to resume logging.

If the channel exists but the bot can't write to it, the message isn't sent. Restore the bot's channel permissions, then run the command again. See how sends are tracked for log fields and delivery outcomes.

Set the message defaults

Under Message defaults, choose the starting appearance for /utils say and /utils dm. Senders can override style and color for one message.

SettingWhat to choose
Default styleContainer for a card with an optional accent color, or Text for a plain Discord message.
Default colorA six-digit hex color such as 2BD3AF, used for containers when the sender chooses Default.
Enable role mentionsLeave off to replace role mentions, @here, and @everyone with [mention]. Turn on when you want those mentions to be able to notify people.

New bots start with Container, 2BD3AF, and role mentions off. Individual user mentions stay visible but don't notify the person through these commands.

Colors apply only to containers. When sending with Text style, choose No color in the command, even if Text is your default style.

Save or discard changes

Select Save Changes in the bottom bar to apply your settings. A valid six-digit hex color is required before you can save. Select Reset to restore the saved settings and discard your draft.
