Turn on Text Utils

Enable staff messaging, choose available commands, and understand what turning it off changes.

Turn on Text Utils to let trusted members send channel announcements and private messages as your bot. Reminders have a separate switch, so you can offer either feature on its own.

Turn Text Utils on

Open your group in the AeroNexus dashboard, choose your bot, and follow these steps:

  1. Open Text Utils from the bot's menu.
  2. Turn on the switch on the Text Utils card.
  3. Wait for the settings to open after the bot applies the change.

The bot makes /utils say and /utils dm available in Discord. At first, only members with Discord Administrator permission can use them.

Your initial settings use Container style, the color 2BD3AF, and role mentions turned off. No additional roles or moderation log channel are selected. Saved settings are restored if you've used Text Utils before.

Choose a moderation log channel before giving your team access. Without one, staff messages are sent without a record of who sent them.

Choose which commands appear

Open your bot's Commands page and find Text Utils. You can turn /utils say and /utils dm on or off individually. Turning both off removes /utils from the command list. A disabled command can't send a message.

Enable personal reminders

On the Text Utils page, use the separate Reminders switch to make reminder commands available. Members can then use /remindme, /reminder create, and /reminder list in server channels.

Changing the Text Utils switch doesn't change the Reminders switch. Staff messaging roles don't restrict personal reminders.

Turn Text Utils off

Return to the bot's Text Utils page and turn off its switch. The page returns to the introduction, and the bot removes /utils from Discord. Anyone submitting an open message form receives a private notice that the feature was turned off; their message isn't sent.

Your allowed roles, log channel, and message defaults stay saved for next time. Messages and moderation log entries already sent stay in Discord. Reminders remain controlled by their own switch.

Next steps

Choose allowed roles, then set a moderation log and defaults. To try personal reminders, read create a reminder.
