Turn on Welcome Messages
Enable greetings for your bot, create your first message, or pause delivery without deleting your setup.
Turn on Welcome Messages for the bot you want to use, then create the messages it sends. Enabling the feature alone doesn't send anything: you need at least one saved message that matches a join, leave, or boost.
Before you start
Your bot needs to be in the linked servers where you want to use Welcome Messages. Check these before creating a message:
- Finish creating your bot.
- Link the servers you want to use in your bot's settings.
- For channel messages, give the bot permission to view the destination channel and send messages there.
- For DMs, remember that a member's privacy settings can block delivery.
Turn Welcome Messages on
Open the bot you want to configure in the AeroNexus dashboard.
- Open your group and select your bot.
- Select Welcome Messages in the sidebar.
- Turn on the Welcome Messages switch.
- Open Join messages, Leave messages, or Boost messages to create a message.
The sidebar also gains Simulation, where you can test saved messages. Your bot must be online to deliver messages or run a simulation.
Create and check your first message
Choose one event to start with. Save a message before testing it; the simulation uses saved messages, not unsaved edits.
- Greet new members with a private welcome or a channel post.
- Farewell leaving members with a channel message.
- Celebrate boosts when someone starts boosting or adds another boost.
Then run a simulation to see the result in Discord. Simulations send real messages.
Turning it off again
Use the same switch when you want to pause messages without deleting them.
- Open Welcome Messages for your bot.
- Turn off the Welcome Messages switch.
Automatic deliveries stop, and simulations are unavailable while the feature is off. Your messages stay saved. Turn the switch back on to use them again. Messages already posted in Discord stay there until you remove them there.
If the switch seems stuck
If the overview doesn't appear after you enable the feature, refresh the dashboard and check the switch again. If a simulation won't run, confirm that Welcome Messages is on and your bot is online.
For delivery problems, follow when messages don't arrive.
Next steps
Choose destinations to decide which servers trigger each message and where members see it.
