Tracking rules and fake policy
Choose account-age and rejoin checks, review flags, and understand which joins a rule change affects.
Use suspicious-invite checks to flag new Discord accounts and members who leave and return quickly. You choose the thresholds that fit your community. A flag describes a join; it doesn't prove that the inviter cheated.
Change your checks
The Tracking rules step during setup and Invite checks on the Config page control the same settings. To update them after setup:
- Open your bot's Invite Tracker > Config page.
- Under Invite checks, turn on Check suspicious invites.
- Choose whether to enable Check account age, Check quick rejoins, or both, and set their values.
- Select Save in the bar at the bottom of the page.
Turning off Check suspicious invites disables both checks. Their controls stay unavailable until you turn it back on. No new joins are flagged while it's off; past flags remain.
Choose a minimum account age
With Check account age on, accounts younger than Minimum account age when they join are flagged.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Default | On, with a 3-day minimum |
| Allowed values | Whole numbers from 0 to 30 days |
For example, a 2-day-old account is flagged under a 3-day minimum. The same account joining a week later wouldn't match this rule. Lower the minimum if your community regularly welcomes people who have just created Discord accounts.
Choose a rejoin window
With Check quick rejoins on, members who return less than the chosen number of hours after leaving are flagged.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Default | On, with a 20-hour window |
| Allowed values | Whole numbers from 0 to 168 hours (7 days) |
For example, a member returning 40 minutes after leaving matches a 20-hour window. A member returning after a week doesn't. The field is called Quick-rejoin window during setup and Rejoin window on Config.
Review a flagged join
A confirmed invite that matches either rule is marked as fake. If it matches both rules, it keeps both reasons without receiving two fake flags for the same join.
The join remains visible in Activity and the member's history. You may
see ACCOUNT_TOO_NEW for the account-age check or REJOIN for a quick
return. Use those reasons to review the situation before discussing it with
the member.
Flagged invites are excluded from Confirmed. How they affect Score depends on your counting mode.
Genuine new users and ordinary returns can match these rules too. Review the join's context before treating a flag as evidence of invite farming.
Know what changes apply to
Your saved policy applies to future joins. Changing a threshold or turning a check off doesn't revisit earlier decisions.
- Raising the minimum age doesn't remove credit from earlier joins.
- Lowering the minimum age doesn't clear earlier flags.
- Turning checks off doesn't convert past flagged joins into confirmed credit.
Changing your counting mode is different: it recalculates scores from saved activity without changing the joins or flags themselves.
Next steps
Review activity to see whether the rules fit your community, or set up Discord logs to see flags in join notices.
