Leaves, rejoins, and fake invites
Understand how departures, returns, and fake flags affect invite counts and scores.
A member's departure or return can change their inviter's numbers. The original history stays available, including who invited them and whether a join matched your fake-invite rules.
When an invited member leaves
Leaving or being banned contributes to Left and can affect the inviter's score. How much it affects the score depends on your counting mode.
- Standard deducts once for each distinct person who left or was flagged.
- Fair deducts departures and fake flags separately at full strength.
- Advanced deducts those same separate penalties at half strength.
Removing a member doesn't erase their invite history. You can still open their profile to review their joins and departures.
When a leave and ban happen together
If someone leaves and is banned shortly afterward, you may see one ban entry rather than separate leave and ban entries. When the ban arrives before the leave notice is sent, the tracker combines them into a ban outcome.
The member's history remains available either way. You don't need to add a manual correction just because moderation followed a departure.
When a member rejoins quickly
With Check suspicious invites and Check quick rejoins enabled, a return inside your rejoin window is flagged. The default window is 20 hours from the previous leave.
For example, Casey leaves and returns 40 minutes later. Under the default rule, the return is flagged and doesn't add confirmed credit for a new recruit. It still appears in Casey's history.
After the window passes, the rejoin check no longer flags the return. The usual attribution and account-age checks still apply. Returning later doesn't guarantee credit, and repeat joins don't automatically become a new distinct person in Total invites.
When a new account is flagged
With the account-age check enabled, an account younger than your minimum age at the time of joining is flagged. The default minimum is 3 days.
A genuine new Discord user can match this rule. Review the context rather than treating the flag as proof of cheating. If your community often welcomes new accounts, adjust the minimum for future joins.
Read flags alongside scores
A flagged join remains visible with its reasons and, where confirmed, its inviter. It isn't included in Confirmed. The effect on Score follows your counting mode; a person who both left and was flagged can contribute to both deductions in Fair and Advanced.
A join matching both account-age and rejoin rules keeps both reasons but isn't counted as two fake joins. Changing the rules later doesn't clear past flags or revisit earlier decisions.
Next steps
Adjust the account-age and rejoin rules, or review a member's history before answering a question about their score.
